Team News: NGT Motorsport Completes Winter Test

SEBRING, Fl. (February 14, 2011) – NGT Motorsport completed four solid days of track time at Sebring International Raceway last week, preparing for the first two rounds of the IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge by Yokohama season.

The test was a success for the team, with five of the team’s six drivers on hand to work on their 2011 set-ups. With NGT contesting a Porsche Club of America event before the two days of GT3 testing, team owner Ramez Wahab had his hands full.

“It was a very busy week!” said Wahab. “We had our ups and downs, but overall, we were very happy with the amount of time we had to get ready for the first races of the year.”

The NGT teammates got the week off to a good start in both PCA events, with Carlos Kauffmann finishing first in class and second overall in the Saturday sprint race. On Sunday, Kauffmann finished first overall in the enduro, with Andres Cisneros first in class and seventh overall.

The team then turned their attention to GT3 testing. The fastest Platinum Cup class time of the week was a 2:07.799 by Henrique Cisneros, behind the wheel of his #26 2011 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car in Monday’s second session. Kauffmann was not far behind Cisneros, recording a 2:07.899 in his #24 Porsche, also in Platinum Cup.
